At the end of April 2026, Prof. Christian Reuter (PEASEC) and Prof. Thomas Schneider (ENCRYPTO) were elected as the new coordination team (Speaker and Deputy Speaker) of the profile topic “Cybersecurity and Privacy: Sustainable Security, Privacy and Safety” (CYSEC) with the Research Field Information and Intelligence. From 2021 to 2026, Prof. Marc Fischlin and Prof. Christian Reuter served as Speaker and Deputy Speaker.

At TU Darmstadt, research is organized in three major interdisciplinary fields: Energy and Environment (E+E), Information and Intelligence (I+I), and Matter and Materials (M+M). Within the research field I+I, TU Darmstadt bundles its strengths in the internationally recognized profile topics “Artificial Intelligence”, “Cognitive Science”, “Complex Interconnected Systems”, and “Cybersecurity and Privacy (CYSEC)”.

With its interdisciplinary approach, CYSEC contributes significantly to advancing secure and trustworthy digital systems. In total, 19 research groups from five departments are involved: Computer Science, Physics, Biology, Human Sciences, as well as Law and Economics.

The newly elected speaker team expressed their gratitude: “We sincerely thank you for electing us. We truly appreciate your trust and support.” They also acknowledged the contributions of their predecessor: “We would like to express our sincere thanks to the previous Speaker, Marc Fischlin, for his dedicated work and commitment from 2021 to 2026.”
