RightsCon is the go-to summit for anyone passionate about human rights in the digital world, organized by Access Now. With over 3,000 people gathering in Taipei (24.02-27.02.2025)—activists, journalists, NGOs, researchers, and tech industry leaders—it’s a space where critical conversations happen. From tech demos to hands-on workshops and strategy sessions, it’s all about tackling the challenges and opportunities technology brings to human rights. The summit tackles pressing issues like tech-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV), internet shutdowns, surveillance, and digital censorship—such as what we’re currently witnessing in Gaza. Discussions also cover digital security training and the challenges of ethical content moderation. In the community hall, Laura Guntrum is presenting “Code of Courage: A comic about digital security for activists“, a comic sparking reflections on digital security for activists. The comic also explores issues like internet shutdowns and digital violence, aligning seamlessly with the broader discussions at RightsCon.
